WestCana Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Nutrition Specialist who is passionate about enhancing the quality of life for seniors in Long Term Care.

Position Overview:

Employment Type: Part-time, with varying days, 9:00am - 2:00pm, totaling 25 hours/week Compensation: $50.00 per hour Professional Requirements: NOC 31121

Essential Qualifications:

A degree in Clinical Food and Nutrition recognized by Dietitians of Canada. Active membership with the College of Dietitians and Dietitians of Canada. Completion of a one-year Dietetic Internship Program. Minimum of two years of relevant experience. Liability Insurance and Reserved Act A for tube feeding. Valid Food Safe Certificate Level 1. Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check upon hiring and every five years thereafter. Proficient communication skills in English, both spoken and written.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate menus and conduct necessary audits. Monitor meal delivery, assess food quality, and collaborate with Food Services to meet residents' nutritional needs. Develop and maintain documentation systems for nutritional assessments and compliance with dietary care plans. Provide clinical dietetic guidance to the interdisciplinary care team by evaluating residents' nutritional status and implementing care plans. Facilitate nutrition education sessions for residents and their families. Suggest practices to optimize resource use and minimize waste.
