Position Overview

Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a skilled Dietitian 2

We are in search of a registered Dietitian to enhance our clinical team. This role involves providing expert nutritional guidance and support to a diverse client population.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough nutritional evaluations and design, implement, and assess personalized nutritional care strategies for specific client groups. Create, organize, and deliver pertinent educational resources for varied demographics, while offering nutritional advice and individualized, family, and group counseling. Offer nutritional and therapeutic counseling, including follow-up consultations and home visits as necessary. Engage in program development and contribute to strategic planning and research initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Education & Experience

Active registration with the College of Dietitians of BC. A minimum of two (2) years of recent relevant clinical experience in a mental health environment, particularly with clients facing eating disorders, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid BC Driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for work-related tasks, as needed.

Skills & Competencies:

Understanding of recovery principles in mental health. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical dietetic principles and practices within a client-centered care framework. Familiarity with the standards of practice and guidelines established by the College of Dietitians of British Columbia. General awareness of Trauma-Informed Care and Harm Reduction methodologies. Proven ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety. Demonstrated capacity to provide culturally competent care across diverse settings. In-depth understanding of the nutritional needs of individuals with eating disorders, particularly children and adolescents. Extensive knowledge of enteral and parenteral nutrition. Awareness of interdisciplinary roles in client care. Familiarity with research methodologies and processes. Proven ability to evaluate client responses to care plans and adapt as necessary. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues, healthcare professionals, clients, and their families. Competence in planning and executing nutrition care plans aligned with client and family priorities. Skills in conflict resolution and adaptability to changing circumstances. Ability to prioritize and organize workload efficiently. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Capacity to educate and provide effective consultation. Leadership skills and ability to guide team members. Capability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team. Proficiency in operating relevant clinical equipment and techniques. Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
