About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our team at Jitterbugs Childcare Inc. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our childcare centre and ensuring the well-being of our children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Early Childhood Educators: Collaborate with our experienced educators to develop and implement engaging programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Record Keeping: Assist in maintaining accurate records of children's progress, including observations and reports.
  • Engage Children: Plan and implement activities that stimulate children's curiosity and creativity, such as storytelling, singing, and craft preparation.
  • Environment Preparation: Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for children.
  • Observations and Reporting: Monitor children's behavior and development, and submit written observations to educators or supervisors.
  • Staff Meetings: Participate in regular staff meetings to discuss children's progress and any concerns.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Establish and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and community service providers to ensure a cohesive and supportive team environment.
  • Health and Safety: Contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children, including adhering to centre policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
  • Language: English
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week
