Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Financial Systems Analyst with expertise in the SAS IFRS17 Solution and Insurance Financial Reporting. This technical role within the Financial Systems team involves:

  • Collaborating with development teams to ensure that delivered solutions align with business requirements.
  • Working alongside Business Data teams, security personnel, and both internal and external audit stakeholders.
  • Analyzing, documenting, and communicating clear Functional Requirements, System Specifications, and Non-Functional Requirements derived from Business Requirements and Architectural Solutions.
  • Utilizing industry-standard business analysis methodologies, including the What, Who, Why framework and the 5 Whys technique.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT, with a focus on technical and functional analysis.
  • Knowledge of Insurance P&C processes, including underwriting, reinsurance, claims, group benefits, and travel.
  • An understanding of audit requirements, data security protocols, and financial data governance, including regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in Financial Reporting, both regulatory and corporate.
  • Familiarity with integration and data mapping processes.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation tools such as SQL, Excel, VBA Macros, and Power BI.
  • Strong skills in Gap Analysis and identifying Functional Dependencies.
  • A solid grasp of the System Development Life Cycle and various development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid, SDLC, SCRUM, Kanban).

Additional Requirements

For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is essential due to regular interactions with English-speaking colleagues across Canada. While Canadian work experience is not mandatory, candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Preferred Skills

Experience with SAS language, Oracle ERP Modules, EDW, or other data repository technologies for reporting is advantageous. Familiarity with creating SQL queries, extracts, and reports using TOAD and Fusion Reporting and Analytics Module is also beneficial. Knowledge of Oracle FBDI, IICS REST APIs, and Control M job creation and scheduling will be considered an asset.
