About the Role:

The Lead FX at Reel FX Creative Studios plays a pivotal role in managing sequences and overseeing the artists assigned to those sequences. As a key member of the leadership team, they contribute significantly to defining the quality and style of the show, working closely with the Effects Supervisor to achieve creative goals.

Key Responsibilities:


• Develop and implement training programs for new hires, ensuring they meet department standards and workflow requirements.

• Mentor artists in advancing their work towards asset/shot approval, providing guidance and support to help them grow professionally.

• Collaborate with team members to resolve pipeline issues, ensuring seamless workflow and efficient production.

• Communicate effectively with the supervisor to address any issues or potential problems that may arise.

• Utilize direct and procedural animation techniques to create a variety of effects, simulating natural phenomena and enhancing the visual quality of the show.

• Maintain quality control with the team, ensuring that all work meets the highest standards.

• Create and compose 3D effects elements, working closely with the production team to achieve the desired look.

Requirements:


• Bachelor's degree in fine arts or animation, or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 4 years of production experience in film or television effects.

• Thorough knowledge of 3D effects and simulation techniques, including Houdini.

• Compositing experience is highly desirable, as is programming Vex.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to convey creative and technical ideas effectively.

• Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
