Job Title: Educational Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Educational Assistant to join our team at John Davidson School. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with their educational needs and promoting a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide educational support to students, including assisting with technology and accessing educational resources.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Program Plans (IPPs) for students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure students receive comprehensive support.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress.
  • Support students in developing their self-esteem and independence through established programs and techniques.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students, including maintaining close supervision and responding to challenging behaviors.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a recognized post-secondary certificate or vocational certificate in child care/development or behavior management.
  • Experience in an inclusive learning environment is an asset.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR certificates are required.
  • Food Safe course is also an asset.
