We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Device Reprocessing Technician to join our surgical team at Halton Healthcare Services. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient processing of medical devices.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of operating rooms, including the cleaning and sterilization of equipment and supplies.
- Support the surgical team in the provision of patient care, including positioning patients and ensuring the availability of necessary supplies and equipment.
- Collect and return equipment and specimens, and assist with case cart management and patient transportation.
- Collaborate with the operating room nursing staff and physicians to ensure seamless patient care.
- Minimum grade 12 education required.
- Current certificate from a recognized college level Medical Device Reprocessing Course or CSA Medical Device Reprocessing Certification required.
- One year experience in the OR, doing the OR support role required.
- Previous Central Sterilization and Reprocessing experience required.
- Excellent communication skills - both oral and written.
- Aptitude for working with delicate and heavy equipment, ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.
