Medical Device Technician

Halton Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Medical Device Reprocessing Tech to join our team. As a member of our surgical team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient processing of medical devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist nursing staff and physicians in the provision of patient care
- Position patients, clean operating rooms, and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are available
- Collect and return equipment and specimens, and stock rooms as required
- Provide support to the operating room staff in the care of the preoperative patient
- Manage case carts, pick cases, and stock rooms
- Transport patients as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum grade 12 education required
- Current certificate from a recognized college level Medical Device Reprocessing Course or CSA Medical Device Reprocessing Certification required
- One year experience in the OR, doing the OR support role required
- Previous Central Sterilization and Reprocessing experience required
- Excellent communication skills - both oral and written
- Aptitude for working with delicate and heavy equipment, ability to meet the physical demands of the position
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record required

Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position working Monday to Sunday, with various rotating hour shifts. Hours are subject to change based on operational requirements.
