Position Overview

Role Summary

What is the opportunity?

The Futures Execution Analyst, part of the Capital Markets - Business and Client Services (BCS) division, collaborates closely with the Futures Front Office and Futures Clearing teams to ensure that all processes are managed in a controlled manner, adhering to both internal and external regulatory standards:

  • Validation and reconciliation of execution fee transactions related to Give-up and Give-in
  • Management of payment and collection for all validated Futures execution fees
  • Ensuring accurate reflection of Futures Executions in financial statements
  • Overseeing Futures Execution Receivables and Payables balances

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute all operational duties associated with CM FIC Futures functions as outlined above
  • Collaborate with business units and support teams to enhance processes, reduce risks, and improve efficiency
  • Serve as the primary liaison for Front Office, Futures Clearing, IT, and FIA-Tech regarding Futures Execution functions
  • Ensure compliance with reporting requirements for all management levels, meeting all business needs
  • Maintain current Procedure Documents in line with RBC's established protocols
  • Work in partnership with IT to understand data and application workflows, establishing standard procedures to ensure data integrity
  • Reconcile and verify General Ledger and Balance Sheet, ensuring alignment of outstanding receivables/payables with bank records
  • Contribute to the achievement of CM - BCS strategic goals

Qualifications for Success

Essential Requirements

  • 1 to 2 years of relevant industry experience
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Familiarity with the complete trade life cycle processes within a Capital Markets or Securities Trading environment, specifically in Futures Trading
  • Understanding of cost flows related to Capital Markets operations
  • Ability to lead change and think strategically
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and analytical abilities
  • Good knowledge of Capital Markets operational functions, including familiarity with front, middle, and back office trading platforms

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Science, or an MBA
  • Familiarity with QlikView and SQL is an asset
