We are seeking an experienced and skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Bighorn. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Preparation
    • Assist in planning and preparing menus for special events and daily service
    • Develop and implement new recipes and menu items
  • Chef Supervision
    • Supervise and train junior chefs and kitchen staff
    • Ensure that all kitchen staff are following proper food safety and handling procedures
  • Inventory Management
    • Manage inventory of food, supplies, and equipment
    • Order supplies and ingredients as needed
  • Food Safety and Quality Control
    • Ensure that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards of quality and safety
    • Conduct regular inspections of the kitchen and food service areas to ensure compliance with food safety regulations
  • Teamwork and Communication
    • Work effectively with the Executive Chef and other members of the culinary team to ensure smooth service
    • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and other restaurant staff to ensure that all needs are met
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • 5 years or more of experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent position
    • Cook Trade Certification and Safe Food Handling certificate
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food safety and handling procedures
    • Strong leadership and communication skills
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
