Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing dishes while monitoring the methods of preparation: assessing feel, taste, aroma, color, texture, and presentation.
  • Creating, implementing, and executing diverse menus
  • Ensuring that all mise en place is ready for upcoming service based on demand
  • Maintaining organization, punctuality, and quality in all food prepared by the team
  • Providing guidance and support to the cooking staff, maximizing their skills and capabilities
  • Serving as a role model for team members
  • Upholding a safe and sanitary work environment
  • Fostering positive working relationships with other departments

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen or banquet operations
  • An Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Cook Certificate
  • A degree in culinary arts or hospitality management is advantageous
  • Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills
  • Comfort in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong verbal communication and problem-solving abilities
  • A well-developed palate and sense of smell
