Job Title: Educational Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to join our team at the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs in both individual and group settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist students with daily routines, including toileting and feeding as required
  • Support students with special needs in the classroom, including implementing Individualized Education Plans
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement strategies to support student learning
  • Participate in general school duties, including student supervision and classroom maintenance
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of a post-secondary educational assistant program or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year experience working with children, preferably in a special education setting
  • Ability to maintain discretion with confidential information
  • Positive and empathetic attitude towards students
  • Basic knowledge of computer software and ability to learn new systems
