Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide support to students with special needs, working collaboratively with teachers and other staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs, including academic, social, and emotional support
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning, implementation, and assessment
  • Develop and implement behavioral support plans to promote positive behavior and reduce challenging behaviors
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure a collaborative approach to student support
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in a child-related field, such as education, child and youth care, or social work
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with children with special needs
  • Valid Behaviour Management Systems certification
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder Training and Lifting/Positioning Training
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
