Key Responsibilities:
  • Study market reports, trade periodicals, and sales promotion materials to stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor activity.
  • Arrange product according to planogram to ensure optimal display and sales.
  • Establish and maintain contact with suppliers to negotiate prices, discounts, and credit terms.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels to meet customer demand.
  • Negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms, and transportation arrangements with suppliers.
  • Oversee the distribution of merchandise to our outlets.
  • Review requirements of our establishment and determine quantity and type of merchandise to purchase.
  • Select and purchase merchandise for resale.
  • Supervise the work of other buyers.
  • Visit trade shows, showrooms, factories, and product design events to stay informed about new products and trends.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related field.
  • College/CEGEP education.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Efficient interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Initiative and organized.
