Civil Engineering Project Specialist
Thurber Engineering Ltd. is a distinguished consulting organization specializing in geotechnical engineering. We engage in complex projects that may involve challenging conditions such as steep landscapes, deep foundations, unstable soils, landslides, contamination, and other intricate scenarios.
- Oversee construction inspections and ensure quality control/assurance testing for a variety of infrastructure and transportation initiatives;
- Perform field compaction assessments of soils;
- Execute laboratory analyses on soils and concrete materials;
- Conduct field testing of concrete in accordance with CSA standards;
- Monitor pile construction for driven steel and cast-in-place concrete piles;
- Collaborate with project engineers and clients' site representatives; travel to various construction locations.
Qualifications and Preferred Skills
- Completion of a college program in Civil Engineering Technology;
- 1 to 2 years of professional experience in construction materials testing;
- Registration with OACETT or immediate eligibility is preferred;
- Concrete Testing Certification from CCIL is advantageous;
- Strong proficiency in computer applications (e.g., spreadsheet and word-processing software);
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential;
- Willingness to work shifts based on project demands;
- Possession of a valid Class G Driver's license is necessary;
