About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Private Banker to join our team at Scotiabank. As a Private Banker, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with high net worth clients, providing them with customized commercial lending solutions and wealth management services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Relationship Management
    • Develop and maintain relationships with high net worth clients to understand their financial needs and provide tailored solutions.
    • Work closely with clients to identify and pursue new business opportunities and cross-sell/up-sell existing products and services.
  • Commercial Lending
    • Provide commercial lending solutions to high net worth clients, including customized credit facilities and risk management strategies.
    • Work with clients to develop and implement comprehensive financial plans, including investment and wealth management strategies.
  • Business Development
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including developing and executing sales strategies and building relationships with key stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement business growth initiatives.
  • Operational Effectiveness
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines, including anti-money laundering and know-your-customer regulations.
    • Manage and resolve client concerns and issues in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • Experience
    • Minimum 5 years of commercial lending or small business banking experience, with a focus on high net worth clients.
    • Established network of high net worth clients in the Canadian banking industry.
  • Skills
    • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and business development skills.
    • Strong knowledge of commercial lending, risk management, and wealth management principles.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Education
    • University degree (BComm, MBA, CFA) or equivalent experience.
    • Industry courses (e.g. CSC, PFP, CFP) an asset.
