Position Overview:
Full Time (1.0 FTE or 75 hours bi-weekly)

Under the guidance of the Manager, the Facilities Operations Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the daily management, delivery, and coordination of services to residents in alignment with Carefor's policies and protocols.

Carefor Health & Community Services is a not-for-profit organization with a long-standing history of offering home and community care support to some of Eastern Ontario's most vulnerable populations.

As the largest home healthcare and community services provider in the region, we employ over 1,400 dedicated staff members. This role involves supporting the Manager in the overall functioning and effectiveness of the Carefor team responsible for resident services.

The Supervisor will identify and assign suitable responsibilities to staff, ensuring adequate support and follow-up, including training in Infection Prevention & Control, Cyber Security, and more.

Acting as a resource and mentor, the Supervisor will provide coaching, education, and guidance to help staff achieve their individual and operational performance goals.
Performance evaluations for assigned staff will be conducted, and any employee issues requiring disciplinary measures will be discussed with the Manager.

All incidents, occurrences, concerns, and priorities must be documented and addressed promptly, adhering to Program policies, regulations, and standards.

The Supervisor will play a role in influencing policy reviews and the development of quality standards and best practices.
Leading by example, the Supervisor will promote continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Understanding, advocating for, and communicating the significance of retirement facility programs in relation to Carefor is essential.
Responsibilities also include planning, monitoring, and coordinating the procurement of supplies necessary for the home, including dietary, medical, and office supplies.
Direct client care may be provided as needed, including covering shifts when staff are unavailable.
The Supervisor will coordinate, participate in, and oversee the delivery of on-site support services.
Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation, standards, and Carefor policies and procedures is crucial.
Participation in health and safety training, including WHMIS, is required, and this knowledge must be applied effectively.
Familiarity with RHRA legislation and regulations, as well as the Best Friends Approach, is advantageous.
The ability to read, interpret, and apply Carefor policies, client care plans, program manuals, and related regulations is necessary.
Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Email, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other HRIS systems, are required.
Bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset.
