POSITION OVERVIEW:

The primary responsibility encompasses all financial and accounting operations at Shred-Tech Corporation across multiple regions including Canada, the US, Asia, and the UK, as well as CM Shredders LLC in the US. This role is pivotal in delivering financial insights and guidance for major corporate decisions, acting as a strategic partner within the Executive Team.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES:

  • Oversee the Director of Finance, providing essential financial direction and leadership to the finance and accounting teams.
  • Establish and manage reporting frameworks to fulfill operational and KPI requirements.
  • Lead the engagement with Group legal counsel.
  • Execute supervisory responsibilities in alignment with organizational policies and legal standards.
  • Foster a supportive and collaborative environment for staff development; assign responsibilities, set goals, prioritize tasks, and assess outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the efficient operation of finance and accounting functions, timely production of financial reports, and adherence to Group and parent company deadlines;
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly reporting packages for the Monthly Business Review with Group Management;
  • Collaborate with the Executive Team to lead the annual five-year strategic planning process and present findings to parent company leadership;
  • Prepare and manage annual operational budgets and capital expenditure plans;
  • Work closely with the VP of Operations to optimize inventory management, cost controls, and sales forecasting to enhance supply chain efficiency;
  • Proactively engage in all company decisions that have financial implications;
  • Maintain relationships with various functional areas within the parent company, including accounting, FP&A, tax, treasury, and risk management;
  • Oversee interactions with external and internal auditors, ensuring compliance with audit findings and recommendations;
  • Contribute as a key member of the Executive Team, driving initiatives for Finance department improvements;
  • Collaborate with the Group CFO and parent company finance departments to meet compliance and achieve corporate objectives;
  • Develop a strong partnership with the HR Director to align goals and objectives;
  • Lead the assessment and execution of consolidation projects and real estate transactions;
  • Manage revisions to standard cost accounting to enhance profitability and manufacturing efficiency;
  • Assist in evaluating potential acquisition targets and integrating successful acquisitions operationally and financially.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged computer use (sitting, typing, viewing screen).
  • Occasional ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles; strong expertise in cost accounting and standard cost systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Extensive experience in implementing and optimizing ERP systems in a manufacturing context, with familiarity in EPICOR being advantageous.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification required, MBA preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 15 years in progressively responsible roles, with at least 10 years in a manufacturing setting and international experience preferred.
  • Experience in public accounting is a plus.
