Your Role

As the Senior Director of Business Banking, reporting directly to the Market Vice President, you will spearhead the development and management of a team comprising Senior Managers and Team Leaders. Your primary objective will be to address the business and personal banking needs of our clientele while driving growth.

Your clients will typically have credit requirements, generally up to $1.5 million, alongside intricate cash management needs. You will collaborate with the broader market team to provide a comprehensive suite of Business Banking solutions.

In this capacity, you will work closely with local banking center leaders to deliver innovative product solutions, specialized business expertise, and timely advice, enabling our Business Banking clients to achieve their personal and business aspirations.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development: Take charge of business development initiatives targeting prospective and key clients. Actively represent CIBC within the community to cultivate and maintain relationships.

Partnership and Relationship Management: Foster a collaborative culture across banking centers to deliver optimal solutions for clients. Engage with Business Banking clients and key stakeholders to expand business opportunities.

Strategic Leadership: Direct the execution of strategies aimed at enhancing the Business Banking sector, improving client experiences, and nurturing client relationships.

Client-Centric Approach: Ensure clients receive a full spectrum of CIBC solutions, enhancing their experience and fostering loyalty.

Compliance: Uphold compliance with policies and standards, ensuring clarity and consistency in expectations.


Who You Are

You are a decisive and accountable leader with strong management skills, capable of guiding a team to achieve strategic objectives in alignment with CIBC's values.

You possess significant business development expertise, allowing you to establish and maintain long-term relationships with Business Banking clients.

Your experience includes a deep understanding of the financial needs of medium-sized businesses, including credit and cash management.

You have a strong grasp of business lending practices and credit analysis, ensuring asset quality and risk assessment.

You are solutions-oriented, demonstrating effective problem-solving skills to address client and operational challenges.

You communicate effectively, setting clear priorities and implementing actionable plans.

Your background includes extensive experience in Business or Commercial Banking in Canada, complemented by a relevant university degree.
