Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Support Specialist to join our team at Microprint. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting our local area networks, wide area networks, and computer workstations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Ensure the smooth operation of our network infrastructure, including LANs, WANs, and computer workstations.
  • Hardware and Software Evaluation and Installation: Assess and implement computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software to meet the needs of our organization.
  • Problem-Solving and Support: Provide expert technical assistance to our users, resolving issues and improving network performance.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement data, software, and hardware security procedures to protect our network and sensitive information.
  • Backup and Recovery: Perform routine network backups and disaster recovery operations to ensure business continuity.
  • Network Optimization: Set up local area networks, connections to the Internet, and implement network traffic and security monitoring software to optimize server performance.
  • Web Development and Maintenance: Modify Web pages, applets, and scripts to ensure our online presence is secure and up-to-date.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise technical staff and provide guidance and support to ensure the success of our IT team.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Security Clearance: Basic security clearance.
  • Transportation: Valid driver's license.
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, attention to detail, ability to distinguish between colors, combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling.
