About the Role

Airstream Heating & Air Conditioning Inc. is seeking a skilled Mechanical Estimator to join our team. As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, preparing pre-qualification submissions, and reading blueprints to determine work requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
  • Develop and submit pre-qualification submissions to present to clients
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms
  • Advise on tendering procedures and analyze tenders to recommend awards
  • Set up and monitor cost monitoring and reporting systems
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical construction, commercial, or industrial construction
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze data
  • Proactive and organized with excellent time management skills
  • Team player with excellent client focus
