Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Learning Tree Academy. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for young children to grow and develop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Design and implement child-care programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and train staff, trainees, or volunteers to ensure a high standard of care and education.
  • Supply Management: Order and manage supplies and equipment to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Child Observation and Reporting: Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings and establish collaborative relationships with coworkers and community service providers.
  • Environment Maintenance: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
  • Activity Planning: Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.

  • Attention to Detail: Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure the well-being and safety of children.
Personal Suitability
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate efficient interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Work Term: Permanent position with a regular schedule of 32 to 35 hours per week.
  • Work Language: English language proficiency is required.
