Senior Technical Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Specialist to join our Global Technology Services (GTS) Service Assets & Configuration Management department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing data from various operations, including Canada, Latin America, Asia Pacific, London, New York, and Mexico.
Key Responsibilities- Manage Discovery & Configuration Management Database (CMDB) in ServiceNow, including service mappings.
- Maintain information about IT hardware & software assets, reporting on value and ownership throughout their lifecycle.
- Conduct configuration audits and coordinate with Technical Service Owners to correct issues and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Build relationships between assets and ensure the accuracy of Configuration Items (CIs) within the CMDB.
- Prepare the Configuration management plan and collaborate with IT Owners and Change Management in assessing impacted CIs by a Change to a service.
- 3+ years of hands-on technical experience with ServiceNow Discovery, including service mappings.
- 3+ years of hands-on working experience in data reporting with ServiceNow CMDB, Asset Management & Service Catalogue.
- 3+ years of hands-on working experience in data reporting with ServiceNow Incident/Problem/Change Management modules.
- 2+ years of working experience in performing audits of hardware, configuration items, as needed to maintain accuracy within the CMDB.
- Strong analytical skills to review Discovery patterns and payloads; manage subnets, monitor discovery schedules, maintain discovery schedules and dates.
- Expert level in the use of MS Excel to create/maintain macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUP & formulas.
- Strong problem solving, analytical and excellent attention to detail skills.
- Familiarity with Discovery related technologies, such as Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), Secure Shell protocol (SSH), Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), and REST/RESTful APIs.
- Post secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering or in a related field.
