Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant architectural and master planning design experience in the Canadian Architectural Industry (BC experience preferred). 15+ years of overall professional experience in the architectural industry.
  • Graduate of a certified Building Technology or Architectural program from a professionally recognized institution.
  • Proven ability to lead in Schematic Design and Design Development phases of a project.
  • Multi-disciplinary experience, specifically in high-rises, townhomes, mixed-use residential, and multi-family residential projects encompassing both new designs and renovations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building technology encompassing wood frame, steel, and concrete construction.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Sketchup. Familiarity with Revit is an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of BC Building Code Part 3, Part 9, and ASHRAE 90.1 (understanding of NECB would be advantageous).
  • Understanding of sustainable design principles and considerations.
  • Ability to balance design sensibilities with pragmatism.
  • Proficiency in zoning regulations, detailing, and constructability.
  • Experience in conducting client presentations, providing design recommendations, and adjusting designs in line with client needs and regulatory standards.
  • Effective coordination skills with stakeholders such as engineers, designers, and contractors.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and the ability to tackle challenges head-on.
  • Experience in mentoring junior team members would be a valuable asset.
