Job Summary

As a key member of the Fraser Health team, the Senior Manager of Capital Projects will be responsible for leading the planning, design, and construction of major hospital development and redevelopment projects. This role requires a strong understanding of facilities project delivery processes, including planning, design, construction, and procurement, as well as the ability to effectively manage complex projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project plans, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely and within-budget delivery of projects.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic and long-range plans for major hospital development and redevelopment projects.
  • Oversee the design and construction of facilities to meet clinical outcomes and align with the latest standards and best practices in health facility design, project delivery, and environmental sustainability.
  • Manage and oversee the management of department human resources, including recruitment, professional development, performance assessment, and discipline of employees or contractors.

Requirements
  • Master's degree and professional designation in a relevant discipline, supplemented by ten years' recent related experience in progressively more complex and senior management leadership roles in a large multi-site organization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of facilities project delivery processes, including planning, design, construction, and procurement, as well as the ability to effectively manage complex projects from concept to completion.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to direct external consultants, architects, and contractors.
  • Ability to work under pressure with deadlines and changing priorities in a dynamic, political environment.
