Job Title: Engineering Co-op Student Opportunities

We are seeking students currently enrolled in an engineering co-op (or internship) degree program to work on various projects and initiatives across our departments and branches at the City of Edmonton.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work on exciting and challenging projects with a self-motivated and valued team
  • Learn about public service and build your professional network
  • Develop your skills and knowledge in a dynamic environment
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a civil, environmental, mechanical, electrical, or related engineering co-op (or internship) degree program from a post-secondary institution
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with related computer software applications (e.g. Google Workspace Applications, AutoCAD, Adobe Reader, Solidworks)
  • Experience with project coordination and project management
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and technical documents
Essential Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative member of a team
  • Committed to building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to accurately analyze information
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment and able to adapt to changing priorities

Work Environment
  • An indoor office environment with possible site visits to job sites (may include construction sites, highways, etc.)
  • Position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite
  • Weekly hours of work may vary depending on the business area
