Job Summary:

Clark Builders is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pre-construction Co-op Student to join our team in Edmonton. As a Pre-construction Co-op Student, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Project Development and Estimating services teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and estimates for client presentations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of project development records, including client information, estimates, and proposal tracking.
  • Review RFQ/RFP/EOI documents to ensure submissions are focused, profitable, and compliant.
  • Research client and project information to assist in proposals and identify opportunities.
  • Set up and maintain documentation control management systems for pursuits.
  • Maintain unit price, productivity, knowledge, subtrade, and cost databases.
  • Develop subcontractor work scopes for tendering.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and owners on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Prepare correspondence, meeting minutes, and other documentation.
  • Participate in tender, client, pursuit, and project team meetings.
  • Attend training courses as required by the Manager.
  • Perform accurate quantity takeoffs manually and electronically.
  • Navigate software packages effectively.

Requirements:

  • Enrollment in a post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Business, or Technical School (Architectural / Engineering Technologist / Construction Management).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite considered an asset.
