The Hospitalist Service at Whitehorse General Hospital is a growing service that offers a unique opportunity for hospitalists to work alongside allied health care providers to deliver high-quality in-patient care to Yukoners.
Key Responsibilities- Provide adult medical care to patients admitted to the Medical Unit, Surgical Unit, Intensive Care Unit, and Mental Wellness Unit.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records in accordance with Yukon Hospital Corporation policies and clinical standards.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuous coverage and support for patients.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the hospitalist program to ensure optimal performance and maturation.
- Hospitalists work a 12-hour day providing in-patient care, with a daily rate of $2760 through an alternate payment arrangement (APA).
- On-call hospitalist services are provided outside of the 12-hour workday and are remunerated through a fee-for-service model.
- Hospitalists also have the opportunity to work a 9-hour day providing in-patient care, with a daily rate of $2070 through an APA.
- Physicians must demonstrate a Certificate of the College of Family Physicians.
- Be licensed by the Yukon Medical Council to practice medicine in Yukon.
- Expressions of Interest must contain current curriculum and demonstrate certification in the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
