Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Professional to join our team at the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital in Coquitlam, BC. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to individuals with complex mental health and substance use challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and their families, providing support and care in accordance with established care plans.
- Provide personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, and assisting with daily living activities.
- Perform nursing care functions, such as monitoring patient progress and reporting any concerns to the nursing team.
- Respond to emergencies and provide support to patients and staff as needed.
- Observe and monitor patient behavior, reporting any significant changes or concerns to the nursing team.
Requirements
- Grade 10 or equivalent education.
- Graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant or Care Attendant program, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Knowledge of Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism principles, and commitment to reconciliation.
