Job Description

What is the Opportunity?

Join our team at Royal Bank of Canada and contribute to the development of digital tools and platforms that enhance collaboration and data quality. As a Data Governance Strategist, you will play a critical role in supporting various data lineage activities and spearheading deployment of strategic analytic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a collaborative environment where various departments work together towards common data governance goals.
  • Analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions to address data governance challenges.
  • Contribute to multiple data governance projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders across the Enterprise and articulate complex data governance concepts in a way that is easily understood by various stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or Finance, with a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Advanced programming skills in Python, with experience in data manipulation, automation, and analytics.
  • Deep understanding of relational and non-relational databases, with advanced SQL proficiency.
  • Prior experience with data lineage and governance platforms, such as Apache Atlas, Informatica, Collibra, Talend, Alation, and other tools.
  • Expertise in ETL tools, such as Informatica, Talend, Microsoft SSIS, and Apache NiFi.
