We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dietary Coordinator to join our team at Golden Links Lodge Personal Care Home. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for coordinating and performing various duties related to food preparation, service, and delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and serve nutritious meals to residents, staff, and visitors in a courteous and helpful manner.
- Coordinate and execute meal planning, food preparation, and presentation to ensure high-quality dishes.
- Manage food inventory, ordering, and storage to minimize waste and optimize resources.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food and waste.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and implement menus, recipes, and portion control systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to resident and staff requests and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance food service operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in culinary arts or a related field an asset.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in food service or a related field, preferably in a long-term care or hospitality setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and external partners.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects, as well as stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Food safety certification and knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.
This is a full-time position, working 7.75 hours per day, 5 days a week. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to food, cleaning chemicals, and other potential allergens. A valid Food Handlers certificate is required, and a Criminal Record and Adult Abuse Registry check will be conducted as part of the hiring process.
