Job Summary

The Senior Auditor, Banking role is accountable for assisting in completing projects of all types, including key risk audits, project risk audits, emerging risk audits, financial controls testing, and other special projects. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, professional, cost-effective, value-added, and risk-based audit services while working independently and collaboratively with management at all levels to improve the management of various risks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist in planning and executing audit projects in accordance with department standards.
  2. Conduct interviews with management regarding the risks being managed by business units and assist in developing audit programs to evaluate these risks.
  3. Assist in assessing control effectiveness.
  4. Prepare audit reports, including executive summaries and audit issues, making practical and value-added recommendations to improve risk management practices and the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
  5. Present findings and recommendations to business unit management, resolve contentious issues, and reach agreement on appropriate solutions.
  6. Follow up on open audit issues until resolved.
  7. Complete assigned work required to support External Auditors.
Qualifications
  1. University degree required.
  2. A recognized accounting (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) or auditing (CIA) designation.
  3. 3 to 5 years internal/external audit or equivalent business experience.
  4. Knowledge of Banking operations is a definite asset.
  5. Demonstrated understanding of business processes and their risk implications, being able to analyze situations, reach appropriate conclusions, and make value-added and practical recommendations.
  6. Demonstrated knowledge of audit methodologies, project management, and system development methodologies, control frameworks, and risk management practices, and regulatory requirements.
  7. Ability to effectively communicate ideas and recommendations orally and in writing, and to listen and consider ideas of others.
  8. Strong customer focus and commitment to quality.
  9. Ability to develop and carry out audit programs to deliver quality results on time and within budget.
  10. Ability to exercise and demonstrate sound judgment.
  11. Results-oriented; ability to balance multiple priorities and projects.
  12. Proven relationship skills, including a demonstrated ability to deal effectively with business units and staff at all levels.
Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography, and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.

The salary range for this role is expected to be between $67,275.00 CAD - $112,125.00 CAD. If you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact us for the salary range for your location.
