Fidelity Investments is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Risk Officer to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the risk management function and ensuring that our organization operates in a safe and compliant manner.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of our risk management framework, ensuring that it is aligned with our business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the organization, including operational, financial, and compliance risks.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management, the board of directors, and regulatory bodies.
- Provide strategic guidance and support to business leaders on risk-related matters.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that risk management is integrated into all aspects of our business.
- University degree or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of experience in risk management and risk programs.
- Prior experience in a compliance and back-office operations role.
- 10+ years of experience at the management level.
- Professional designation or certificate in risk management or internal control.
- CA designation is considered an asset.
- A strong ability to communicate (written and verbal). Effective presentation skills.
- Emphasis on risk and an inquiring mind.
- Broad knowledge of the financial services and wealth market in Canada.
- Knowledge and understanding of clearing firm regulatory obligations, Canadian brokerage industry and brokerage operations, including the impact of technology on this market.
- Experience managing projects and scaling processes with company growth.
- Ability to plan, monitor, control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources, to achieve project objectives.
- Ability to collaborate and influence across all levels of the organization.
- Strong influencing skills. Gains acceptance of ideas and suggestions from senior business executives.
- Superior knowledge of processes, tools, and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the Canadian regulatory environment, CIRO rules and regulations, OSC and other provinces and territories.
