Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Lakeridge Health. As a member of our Mental Health float pool, you will work in interprofessional teams at both the Ajax and Oshawa Sites, providing client-centred psychiatric, addiction, and general nursing care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical care to patients on the inpatient mental health units, including the General unit and Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
  • Work within a primary nursing model, contributing to the treatment approach for the unit, performing assessments, developing, implementing, and evaluating the interprofessional plan of client care.
  • Act as a charge nurse, leading and guiding the team to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing).
  • A current B.C.L.S. certificate.
  • BScN is an asset.
  • Minimum 1 year Mental Health/psychiatric experience with individuals with mental illness and/or addictions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CNA certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining Reflective Practice Standards as outlined by the CNO.
  • Excellent knowledge of, and experience in group theories and dynamics.
  • Knowledge of Community Mental Health Resources.
  • Experience working with the Child & Adolescent population is an asset.

The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and the Ontario Nurses Association (RN Bargaining Unit Local 051).
