Teaching Opportunity at Sudbury Catholic District School Board

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated teacher to join our team at St. David. As an Indigenous Language Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Indigenous language and culture to students in Primary and Junior Divisions
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices

Requirements:

  • Current membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
  • Qualifications in Primary and Junior Divisions
  • Additional qualification in Native as a Second Language
  • Knowledge of current Ministry initiatives and Ojibwe language
  • Excellent English language communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of evidence-based assessment practices
  • Commitment to supporting the use of technology in instruction and learning
