Location: YMCA of Greater Vancouver
Employment Type: Temporary, Full-Time, 35 hours/week
Working Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30am-9:00am & 2:30pm-6:00pm + administrative duties
Compensation: $24.82 per hour + Benefits
Reporting To: Manager, Healthy Child Development
Overview:
The YMCA is seeking passionate individuals who enjoy working with children and families. As a Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in guiding a team of Kids Club Activity Leaders and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and facilitate engaging indoor and outdoor activities for children aged 5 to 12
- Provide direct supervision and leadership to staff and volunteers
- Offer continuous coaching and development opportunities for team members
- Create and implement child-centered programming
- Foster positive relationships and effective communication with families, staff, and community partners
- Complete necessary administrative tasks such as payroll and budget management
- Ensure active supervision to maintain the safety and well-being of children
- Prepare nutritious snacks for children
- Build strong connections with children and their families
- Assist children in resolving conflicts and model positive behavior
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment at all times
- Ensure the health and safety of all children in your care
Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 19 years
- Experience working or volunteering with children
- At least 1 year of experience in a leadership role
- Emergency First Aid & CPR certification (can be obtained within 90 days of employment)
- Training related to child development is an asset; training will be provided by the YMCA if needed
- Successful candidates must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search
