Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Chef Department Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the food service team and ensuring that all aspects of the department are operating at the highest level. This includes managing inventory, ordering, and merchandising, as well as providing exceptional customer service and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Lead and motivate the food service team to achieve exceptional customer service and sales results.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance and productivity.
  • Inventory Management
    • Manage inventory levels and ordering to ensure that the department is fully stocked and that products are fresh and of high quality.
    • Monitor and control inventory costs to ensure that they are within budget.
  • Merchandising and Visual Display
    • Develop and implement visually appealing merchandising displays to showcase products and drive sales.
    • Ensure that all products are properly displayed and that the department is well-organized and easy to navigate.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service and support to ensure that customers have a positive shopping experience.
    • Respond to customer complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Operations and Administration
    • Manage the day-to-day operations of the department, including scheduling, payroll, and inventory management.
    • Ensure that all administrative tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • Typically requires completion of a post-secondary program in a related field, such as business or hospitality, plus a minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in a similar role.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
    • Strong inventory management and merchandising skills.
    • Ability to provide exceptional customer service and support.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.

Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities. The successful candidate will be required to stand and walk for long periods of time during their shift, and to lift, carry, or handle heavy objects. Fluency in English and French is considered an asset.
