LPN Opportunity in Emergency Nursing

We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department at Fort Nelson General Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary clinical framework.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients in the Emergency Department, identifying their needs and developing individualized care plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the care team to provide comprehensive care, communicate effectively with patients and families, and facilitate smooth transitions of care.
- Education and Patient Advocacy: Educate patients and families on health promotion, illness prevention, and wellness, while advocating for their needs and preferences.
- Documentation and Quality Improvement: Accurately document patient care and incidents, contributing to quality improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
The Northern Health Regional Emergency Department Education Program (REDEP) offers a comprehensive training opportunity for novice-level emergency nursing care. This program combines online learning with hands-on training to ensure safe and competent patient care.
- Program Overview: The REDEP program provides a standardized online curriculum offered by Elsevier, focusing on basic emergency nursing topics, concepts, and practice guidelines.
- Training Components: The program includes online learning, hands-on training, and a 4-month commitment, with flexibility for practicums and preferred experience in acute care.

Qualifications and Skills- Education and Experience: Graduation from a recognized Practical Nursing program and one year of recent related experience.
- Registration and Certification: Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the BCCNM and BLS certification.
- Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated proficiency in nursing practice related to Emergency Department patient care, knowledge of common diagnoses and clinical situations, and ability to make sound clinical judgments.
