Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse - Emergency Department

We are seeking a motivated Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department at Fort St. John Hospital. As a LPN, you will work closely with the care team to provide compassionate patient care and make a positive impact on the lives of our patients.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will work in the Emergency Department, providing care to patients across the lifespan. The successful candidate will have a passion for nursing and a dedication to delivering high-quality patient care. The LPN will work in a team-based model, providing care to patients and their families, and will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating interventions to meet the needs of our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide compassionate patient care and make a positive impact on the lives of our patients
  • Work closely with the care team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions to meet the needs of our patients
  • Participate in discharge and/or care planning, and function as a patient advocate
  • Teach patients and their families about illness/injury and overall health promotion and wellness
  • Enhance quality of life from the perspective of the patient/family
  • Establish, maintain, and enhance therapeutic relationships based on respect
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses and one (1) year recent experience working in a related area of care
  • Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Demonstrated ability in nursing practice related to caring for patients in the Emergency Department
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pathophysiology related to common diagnosis related to designated patient group
  • Demonstrated ability to perform nursing assessments and interventions related to common diagnosis and specific clinical situations relevant to the designated patient group
