Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Technician is tasked with executing and supporting various quality control and inspection activities, ensuring compliance with all standards, processes, specifications, codes, and regulations to achieve overall customer satisfaction.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Manager of Reliability and Quality
Work Schedule: 7x7
Compensation: Additional premiums and allowances are applicable due to the job's nature


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees and updates the Quality Control program and associated manuals.
  • Conducts inspections of ongoing work and completed tasks to address recurring issues and identify root causes.
  • Coordinates documentation and quality control efforts to uphold quality assurance objectives.
  • Assists in identifying processes and opportunities for improvement.
  • Performs inspections and approves project completions and documentation.
  • Documents processes to ensure consistency across projects.
  • Maintains effective relationships with third-party inspectors.
  • Manages welder records and logs, ensuring compliance with approved standards.
  • Provides quality control updates during production meetings as necessary.

Qualifications
  • Journeyperson trade certificate or equivalent experience with practical knowledge in supervising welding and fitting operations.
  • CET (welding) or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CWB requirements is essential.
  • Ability to interpret engineering specifications accurately.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in project execution and reporting.
  • Intermediate computer skills, particularly in MS Office applications.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members while also being self-sufficient in task completion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities and initiative are essential.
  • Capability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Knowledge of SAP (preferred), Excel, Word, and email is required.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary.
