About the Role

This is a full-time position that will report directly to the Area Manager – Ready Mix. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our ready-mix products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site testing of concrete to ensure it meets our quality standards.
  • Complete a CSA-approved concrete testing course after hire to enhance your skills.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, onsite staff, third-party testing companies, and operations personnel.
  • Troubleshoot and make recommendations to maintain high-quality ready-mix products.
  • Observe, document, and evaluate third-party testing procedures and quality of testing.
  • Enter and assess concrete test results from in-house and third-party lab testing.
  • Prepare and test cylinders for compressive strength.
  • Sampling and testing of ready-mix raw materials.
  • Prepare and execute batch trials.
  • Regular commute to customers' sites.
  • Saturday work may be required based on customers' demand.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous concrete testing experience.
  • Knowledge of CSA field testing procedures.
  • CCIL/ACI certification for concrete testing is considered an asset.
  • A valid Alberta Driver's License with at least 3 years of driving experience is required.
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere and follow instructions.
  • Be highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
