The Certified Weight Room Attendant will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all patrons utilizing the weight room facilities at Kawartha Lakes. This role requires a high level of customer service, technical knowledge of exercise equipment, and attention to detail in maintaining a clean and organized environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of all patrons attending the weight room, including proper use of equipment and emergency procedures.
  • Support clientele in the proper use of exercise equipment and free weights, providing guidance and instruction as needed.
  • Secure equipment and conduct regular inspections to maintain a safe and functional environment.
  • Clean and maintain the weight room equipment and facilities, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Greet customers and provide information on health and wellness programs, personal training services, and weight room orientations.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed logs of daily activities and attendances.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Personal Trainer Specialist certification.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Previous experience in the recreation and/or fitness industry.
  • Knowledge and experience with proper weightlifting techniques.
  • Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to function independently and in team situations.
  • Excellent leadership, administration, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service and organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated professional and ethical responsibility, including confidentiality and discretion.
  • Excellent time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and commitment to quality improvement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including document creation, scheduling, and data searches.
