Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Building Attendant. As a key member of our Facilities Management team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our buildings, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and disinfect all areas of the building, including sinks, countertops, urinals, toilets, walls, showers, and touchpoints.
  • Prepare facilities for rental setups, including setting up and taking down tables and chairs.
  • Empty garbage, composting, and recycling receptacles.
  • Restock paper towels and toilet dispensers.
  • Wipe down lockers and respond to spills throughout the day.
  • Sweep and damp mop stairwells.
  • Report damage or vandalism to the Supervisor or Facilities Office as required.
  • Order supplies and restock shelves.
  • Assist with rental set-ups and take-downs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Equivalent to partial secondary school education and 3 months in a custodial field.
  • Willing to work various shifts to accommodate work schedules or special projects.
  • Knowledge of proper floor care and cleaning techniques, as per industry standards.
  • Demonstrated custodial experience.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) for the safe use and clean-up of hazardous materials.
  • Knowledge of the safe and proper use of custodial equipment.
  • Well-developed customer service skills.
  • Valid MTO driver's license and acceptable driving record may be required.
  • Must be reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
