Lead Solutions Architect

As a pivotal member of the Technical IT team, the Lead Solutions Architect will oversee operational protocols and ensure the reliability of advanced projects. This individual will serve as the primary authority for designated products and systems within the ThinkOn ecosystem. The Solutions Architect is expected to identify project requirements, devise practical solutions, and spearhead the implementation process. This role will be acknowledged as a specialist in ThinkOn's offerings, with the capability to integrate emerging technologies.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and resolve all escalated issues beyond level 2 support
- Collaborate effectively with cross-departmental teams, providing mentorship and technical guidance to level 2 personnel
- Analyze problems to identify critical elements and address them promptly with optimal solutions
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders involved
- Engage in architectural design tasks to develop scalable solutions for cloud service providers
- Oversee VMware-based virtual platforms and associated solutions
- Focus on areas including ESXi, vCenter, and NSX-T
- Manage backup, replication, Active Directory, and storage solutions
- Configure, deploy, and manage physical servers and chassis/blade solutions from vendors such as HPe, Cisco, Lenovo, and Dell
- Lead level 3 projects and implementations related to assigned products and systems
- Create documentation for system deployment, operation, and support
- Provide advanced system troubleshooting and problem analysis for various hardware and software components within ThinkOn systems
- Maintain close collaboration with all technical and project-related teams within ThinkOn, as well as with customers and vendors
- Engage in system deployment, integration, and support activities throughout the product development lifecycle
- Offer on-call support for production systems
- Perform additional related duties as required
- Act as the primary expert for all ThinkOn infrastructure and services in discussions with Engineering, Architects, and Product teams
- Evaluate new technologies and develop proof of concept plans for execution
- Serve as the technical leader, providing guidance and planning for the Infrastructure Planning and Implementation Team to deploy new or existing services.
- Canadian or Permanent Resident status for over 10 years
- Minimum of 5 years of operational experience with VMware-based virtual platforms
- At least 5 years of operational experience with VMware Sphere (ESXi & vCenter)
- 3+ years of operational experience with VMware Cloud Director environments
- 2+ years of operational experience in cloud environments
- 2+ years of operational experience with NSX environments
- 3+ years of experience in blades and chassis administration (HPe, Cisco, Lenovo, and/or Dell)
- 3+ years of experience in fibre channel-based storage administration
- Strong understanding of routing and switching concepts and technologies
- Experience in a 24/7/365, multi-tiered large-scale production environment
- VMware Certified Professional 6+ (VCP6 or higher)
- Experience in implementing and/or maintaining VMware vCloud environments
- NSX-T implementation and management experience for vCloud environments
- Experience with VMware Tanzu and Kubernetes is considered an asset
- Familiarity with Hyperflex or HCI PIVOT3
- Experience in migrating from NSX-V to NSX-T in vCloud environments
- Knowledge of IP networking, routing, and switching
- Experience with SOC or ISO audit/control related to environmental security
- Experience with the implementation and/or design of Veeam, Zerto, or CommVault
