In this role, you will be a part of the infrastructure team, of the Northern Engineering Sector, based in the Thunder Bay office.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Preparing construction documents in coordination with multi-discipline project teams of architects and engineers.
* Coordinating project requirements and development of construction documents with subconsultants.
* Monitoring the timeliness and quality of architectural technical document submissions to the Clients and other project stakeholders.
* Performing code reviews and meeting independently with local code officials to review and determine specific local code requirements and project compliance.
* Managing the preparation of all architectural technical document packages and related submittals related to planning, obtaining approvals, and specifications.
* Identifying and managing project risks and associated mitigation measures.
* Performing bid phase and construction phase tasks including site visits, review of shop drawings, responding to requests for information, and issuing clarifications.
* Supporting proposal stage on Projects, RFP's Client Requests, etc.
* Leading the development of design alternatives using a variety of media, including computer visualization, and physical models.
* Ensuring that both the internal and external client needs are met and that the projects are delivered within cost, quality and schedule targets.
* Leading and/or participating in regular project meetings and ensuring that stakeholders are well informed on project progress and best efforts are exerted in meeting their needs.
* Leading the development of presentation documents and making design presentations to Clients.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A degree in architecture required from an Accredited University.
* 5+ years' experience in a similar role.
* Demonstrated ability to use computer software for design.
* Detailed knowledge of all phases of architectural and engineering practice.
* Proficiency in the production of contract documents including Technical Specifications.
* Proficiency in production with Revit and AutoCAD.
* Experience working on medium size projects.
* Experience with Sketchup, Photoshop, 3D Studio, Rhino, V-Ray, and other imaging and rendering software.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal and experience liaising with clients.
* Detailed knowledge of building construction systems means and methods, materials, and industry associated standard.
