POSITION OVERVIEW
The Project Engineer plays a crucial role in overseeing all engineering and technical aspects of projects. This position involves scheduling, planning, forecasting, resourcing, and managing all technical activities to ensure project precision and quality from initiation to completion. The ideal candidate will possess extensive engineering expertise and a proven history of success in project management. Exceptional communication skills, organizational abilities, and collaborative spirit are essential. The Project Engineer will be accountable for upholding our standards of excellence and executing projects with a strong focus on safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute the specifics of all technical and engineering projects.
- Establish project specifications through comprehensive evaluations of performance standards, client needs, and product design.
- Develop, assess, and approve system and component drawings, specifications, and fabrication requirements.
- Generate, review, and validate P&ID, specifications, and fabrication criteria.
- Draft, review, and approve electrical schematics.
- Collaborate with the Plant Engineer to create layout alternatives and align with plant operations on optimal solutions.
- Analyze project proposals and plans to define project objectives.
- Formulate specifications for manufacturing, determining materials, equipment, piping, material flows, capacities, and system layouts.
- Monitor compliance with site safety and legal standards.
- Ensure that all technical and engineering projects adhere to relevant codes and regulations.
- Provide ongoing support to Field Engineers in troubleshooting electrical issues.
- Coordinate project responsibilities, including resource scheduling and execution oversight.
- Enhance the efficiency and profitability of technical and engineering initiatives.
- Engage daily with clients to understand their requirements and represent their interests in the field.
- Work collaboratively with project managers and other team members to offer assistance and technical support.
- Review engineering outputs and initiate necessary corrective measures.
- Maintain system functionality through rigorous testing, identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, and generate maintenance and support activities for existing solutions.
- Collect and analyze project data to produce status reports and suggest future actions.
- Evaluate the feasibility of new projects, collaborating with the commercial team to promote systems.
- Manage in-house projects related to supply chain processes.
Qualifications:
- Degree in engineering, preferably in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in project management, project engineering, or project planning.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations, codes, and policies to ensure project standards are met.
- Experience in field project management.
- Background in industrial automation and PLC systems.
- Prior engineering experience in a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Project Engineer.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Project Management.
- Possession of a valid passport, driver's license, and insurance.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
- Experience in the food industry is essential.
Skills:
- Proficient in 2D and 3D design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Skilled in interpreting Mechanical, Electrical, Piping, and Instrumentation diagrams and sketches.
- Experience in developing integration site designs and updating electrical schematics.
- Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLCs, Studio 5000, and Control Logix.
- Experienced in commissioning new systems in a manufacturing context.
- Comfortable with processes such as change orders, site design, project design, and cost estimation.
- Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude with analytical capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and think critically, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Excellent customer service skills, including effective communication.
- Ability to lead and resolve problems effectively.
- Proven strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work extended hours and be available on call.
