Job Description

The Waterloo Catholic District School Board is seeking qualified educators to fill daily occasional teaching positions in elementary and secondary schools. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our students and contribute to the development of a vibrant and inclusive learning community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and support students in a variety of subjects and grade levels
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve student outcomes
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture
Requirements
  • Qualified Ontario College of Teacher (OCT) Educators in Good Standing
  • New Faculty of Education Graduates from 2024 and awaiting OCT Number
  • New Faculty of Education Graduates graduating in 2024/2025
  • Applicants with an OCT Transitional Certificate
  • Internationally Trained Educators with Ontario College of Teacher Accreditation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations, Ethical Standards for the Teaching Profession, and the Standards of Practice for the Teaching Profession
  • A practicing Catholic with a strong and active Catholic Faith life
  • Proficient knowledge and understanding of Ontario curriculum, evaluation, and assessment techniques
  • Current understanding of research, integrating technology, and best instructional practices
  • Effective classroom management skills and ability to create a welcoming and safe Catholic learning environment for all students
