Job Description

The Waterloo Catholic District School Board is seeking qualified occasional educators to join our team. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, teaching students in elementary and secondary schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach students in elementary and secondary schools
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of students
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Communicate with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress
  • Collaborate with other educators to develop and implement curriculum
Requirements
  • Qualified Ontario College of Teacher (OCT) Educators in Good Standing
  • New Faculty of Education Graduate from 2024 and awaiting OCT Number
  • New Faculty of Education Graduate graduating 2024/2025
  • Applied for or currently hold an OCT transitional certificate
  • Internationally Trained educators with Ontario College of Teacher accreditation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Catholic Graduate Expectations, Ethical Standards for the Teaching Profession, and the Standards of Practice for the Teaching Profession
  • Practicing Catholic with a strong and active Catholic Faith life
  • Proficient knowledge & understanding of Ontario curriculum, evaluation & assessment techniques
  • Current in understanding of research, integrating technology and best instructional practices
  • Effective classroom management skills and ability to create a welcoming and safe Catholic learning environment for all students
