We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Reliability Engineer to join our Shared Capabilities, Service Reliability and Operation team in Toronto. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing site reliability engineering and DevOps best practices, ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of our cloud-based infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Implement Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps Best Practices: Feed non-functional requirements to the product backlog, including high availability, scalability, self-healing, observability, and continuous improvement stories.
- Build and Maintain Monitoring: Develop and implement monitoring for all aspects of infrastructure, micro-services, usage trends, and the platform, using cloud-native solutions.
- Provide Primary Operational Support: Offer pre and post-onboarding activities for the platform, ensuring seamless integration and minimal downtime.
- Act as the Go-To Person for Production Issues: Troubleshoot and monitor until successful mitigation, communicate effectively, run postmortem analyses, and implement learnings.
- Maintain IaC and CICD: Promote best practices for our CI/CD processes, ensuring efficient and reliable deployment of cloud-based services.
- Focus on Continuous Improvement and Technical Standards: Drive improvements in productivity, monitoring, tooling, and set industry best practices for cloud-based infrastructure.
- On-Call Rotation: Participate in on-call/shift rotations (L2), ensuring prompt response to incidents and effective mitigation.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Related Field: A must.
- Minimum of 4+ Years of Experience as DevOps/SRE Engineer and Cloud Engineer: With hands-on experience in AWS cloud technologies.
- Highly Skilled in UNIX/Linux-Based Systems: Proven experience in building and operating PRODUCTION cloud-native infrastructure, applications, and services on AWS.
- Experience with Container Technology: Docker, Kubernetes, and Istio service mesh.
- AWS Services Experience: Cloud Front, EKS, ECS, RDS, Threat detection, and other security controls.
- Scripting and Programming Experience: PowerShell, Bash.
- Observability Tools Experience: DataDog, ELK, SumoLogic, CloudWatch.
- Version Control and CI/CD Experience: Git, Azure DevOps, JFrog Artifactory.
- Infrastructure as Code Experience: Terraform, CloudFormation.
