Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at the Health Sciences Centre. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing quality Speech-Language Pathology services, consistent with discipline and professional standards, including prevention, identification, evaluation, assessment, diagnosis, counselling, treatment, management and education of communication and swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Speech-Language Pathology services to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and coordination of services.
  • Conduct research and participate in quality improvement initiatives to advance the field of Speech-Language Pathology.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited/recognized university.
  • Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Manitoba (CASLPM).
  • Membership in professional organizations such as Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) and the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Competence in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.

Working Conditions

  • May be required to work extended hours.
  • May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, radiation, toxic materials, noise, allergens, physical and emotional stress, etc.
